Volunteers are the backbone of every major sporting event and the FIBA EuroBasket 2025, which will be held next summer in Cyprus, is no exception!


The Cyprus Basketball Federation (CBF) and the Local Organising Committee this week issued the first call to the public for expressions of interest to work as volunteers at FIBA EuroBasket 2025.


So, if you are over 16 years old and want to be a part of the sports history of Cyprus, by experiencing first-hand the great event, while also gaining valuable personal experiences, you can apply now to become a FIBA EuroBasket 2025 volunteer.


The event that will be held between August 28 and September 4, 2025 in Limassol. The volunteers will be, first of all, ambassadors of the famous Cypriot hospitality!
For a successful organisation, around 400 volunteers are required, who will be assigned various tasks, depending on their capabilities, knowledge and experience, the degrees they hold or the studies they are currently following.


FIBA EuroBasket 2025 volunteers in Cyprus must be fluent in Greek and English. Previous experience in sporting events will be an added advantage. All volunteers must be available for a ten-day period in late August and early September and those selected will be given their shifts and tasks in advance.


Volunteers are always the first faces that visitors meet and the same will occur on the island next summer, when thousands of visitors (teams, organisers, journalists, sponsors, fans) will travel to Cyprus.


Volunteers will be stationed at the official airport and hotels, others will accompany the teams, referees and officials and of course a big contingent of volunteers will be stationed at the Spyros Kyprianou arena. They will have, among other tasks, duties of welcoming fans and maintaining the information desk, media support (distribution of statistics sheets, staffing of the conference area, press room, etc), support of the medical team and anti-doping, distribution of sports and other equipment to the teams.

Those who wish to contribute to the organisation as volunteers are invited to fill out their online application, by registering their personal information, as well as their knowledge and experience, so that they can be allocated accordingly.


All volunteers will receive official FIBA EuroBasket 2025 clothing and equipment, along with a certificate of participation. Transportation will also be offered to and from the official venues of the event, starting from the Tsirion stadium, for those who require it.

The platform for registration will remain open until February 28, 2025, while the training of volunteers will commence in May 2025.
