A 42-year-old man was arrested in Paphos on Friday evening after police discovered a large quantity of duty-free tobacco in his vehicle.
The arrest took place at around 7:30pm on the Limassol-Paphos highway near Timi, when officers stopped the man for a routine inspection.
During a subsequent search, 22.85kg of hookah tobacco and 1.25kg of duty-free rolling tobacco and €7,025 in cash were found and seized by police.
The case was handed over to the customs department which is to conduct further investigation.
