A 47-year-old man died after falling 23 metres from an under-construction building in Limassol on Tuesday, police said.

The man, named as Georgian national Gela Katsidis, was working on the building’s sixth floor.

According to the police, he lost his balance and fell from the building, before being taken to a private clinic by ambulance.

He was pronounced dead at 12.50pm.

Following his death, police officers and workers from the labour inspection department visited the scene, with investigations now underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
